| The Catholic Daughters Court Moran No. 378 provided the funds to establish this chapel. Named
in memory of former pastor, Msgr. Moran, the Catholic Daughters were actively involved in service and charity to St.
Paul’s Church and the Princeton Community until 2008.
The Remembrance Chapel was blessed and dedicated during the 5:30pm Mass on June 5, 2010.
Msgr. Nolan poses with members of the Catholic Daughters Court Moran No. 378, whose generosity
is responsible for turning the old baptismal space into a remembrance chapel,
in which to pray as well as honor our departed loved ones by burning a
candle in their memory. From left are Rosemary Shangle-Johnson, Catherine Cirullo,
Virginia Wilkinson and Marliss McGuiness.
Court Moran No. 378 was named in memory of Msgr. Moran, former pastor of St. Paul. Its members
faithfully served St. Paul’s Parish and the Princeton Community until 2008.
The chapel that the Catholic Daughters funded is both a place for prayer
as well as a place to honor our departed loved ones by burning a candle in their memory and honor.
It has been our Catholic tradition to light a candle either asking for a favor or in honor of a loved one in the Communion of Saints.
Remembrance candles have been used for centuries to help those who have lost a loved one through a particular
anniversary, holiday or other special dates and to keep the memories near. Since November is the month of All Saints and All Souls,
it is appropriate that the candle burn for one year starting November 1st, All Saints Day. With a minimum
annual offering of $150, a small brass plaque displaying the name of your request can be mounted underneath a candle,
which will stay lit 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A special book will be placed in the Remembrance Chapel to be
signed by a family member after a Mass of Resurrection is offered for the blessings of eternal life.
If you wish to make an offering in memory of a loved one, use the form which follows or call
the office (924-1743) and ask for Susan. You may also email SHowley@StPaulsPrinceton.org for more information.
